Good afternoon everyone!
I was just wondering. Do any of you buy dolls for girls that are unrelated to you?
I've done this twice this year, and I love it!
First, I gave a Bitty Baby to a little girl from church. She is 4 or 5, and didn't even have a baby doll!!!!! Another lady from church approached me about making some doll clothes for this little girl, saying that she was going to go to the store and buy the girl a doll for her birthday. I said..."Wait! I've got another idea!" So, I donated a new in box Bitty and her B-day dress. We wrapped them up, and I put them inside one of the big AGP shopping bags. We had her take it home to open it, since there are lots of little girls in our church.
Anyway...she is thrilled. She named her Rose. This little girl comes from a family that has almost nothing. She appreciates everything she gets.
And...I just ordered Marisol for my best friends little girl. Her mama doesn't care much for dolls, and never has. So Auntie Jenny had to step in. Her mom does buy her lots of AG stuff. She is getting the carriage, E's bed, Penny, Sam's table and chairs, and a boat load of other AG stuff for her b-day and Christmas. She already has Nellie and lots of outfits.
My friend always keeps one of my mares for me while I wean the mares foal, and she will never take any type of payment. So...I decided that was a good reason to buy her daughter a doll.
I can't wait.
Anybody else want to share their doll gift stores?
Oh...I also just realized that customers are limited to only purchasing 4 Marisol's?

Yes! I bought a Bitty Baby for the girl I used to nanny for for her second birthday this year (I know it sounds young, but I've never seen a child so careful with her toys, and she tucked bitty bear into her jeans the minute she saw it, lol). At MCM this year, I bought a Felicity for my dad's business partner's daughter. She asked for an AG this past Christmas and he bought her a knock off, making the bad choice of telling my dad it was too much to spend on a doll. LOL, well, that's not really how my family feels about AG, so he gave me $60 from the company's money to get her any doll I choose, and I got her Lissie 'cause of the movie. Well, she sent three thank yous, and calls all the time to ask about AG stuff. She's so adorable about it. Apparently, Lissie hasn't left her side for more than twenty minutes in the last two months. LOL. It's pretty rewarding to give AG, isn't it

Just last May my Australian friend and her family came for a short visit and I gave her then 8 months old daughter this cuddly G?tz doll - which isn't AG but very suitable for a girl that age as it's machinewashable and even plays music. My friend told me once she was back in London that her little girl loved to cuddle the doll and listen to the lullabye when going to sleep at night.

Mikki...I love that baby doll!
Mayergirl....I don't think two is too young for Bitty. I gave Bitty to one niece who was only 18-mos. She is four and half, now, and she still cherishes her Bitty. A month ago, we gave her little sister a Asian Bitty for her second b-day. My SIL sends me pics all of the time of those two little girls playing with their Bitty Babies. I already have some outfits for them for Christmas.
And yes...AG is just so much fun to give as gifts!

We bought a doll for our best friend's daughter. The girl had been asking for one but her parents thought they were too much money.
I on the other hand just needed an excuse to buy another doll.
This family is very clos to us. When Dh and I are both away for work they reguarly take DD for us and never ask for any payment. I offer to pay or give money to kailey upkeep. At times it can be a whole week that we are gone. Since they never take money from usd we always make a point of spending mroe on their kids.

I haven't bought dolls for other little girls, but I have given some of mine to girls. When I as little, I weeded through my baby dolls to give to girls in Paraguay. I've given other dolls to some girls at a school my mom taught at. But my most memorable gift giving was to my "little sister," Bethany. I gave Bethany one of my Lissi 18" dolls along with some of my Barbies and lots of my old stuff. I attached myself to Bethany when my mom taught kindergarten, and now Bethany is in 6th grade!

I want to buy my cousin a bitty baby for the holiday-I don't know if I can afford it though. My mom's side of the family is all about gifts-because giving to each other, we give to my two cousins and their wives, and then their three kids. I don't know if I could spend 45 dollars each on gifts. So what I am thinking of doing is telling my parents to go in with it with us.

We gave DD's best friend an Ebay today girl. Her mom came down and helped me trim her hair and clean her up. We had a great time. Then we gave her little sister a Bitty for her birthday. She turned 5 but is really not ready for a "big" girl yet. It was nice that we know the parents well enough to ask if an ebay doll was OK. I'm hoping to get the $14 store special for a Christmas gift and maybe a sale Bitty outfit for the sister.
I've also bought dolls for my nieces but 2 of them are just like daughters to me. The other we rarely see but I keep buying for her anyway.
